Introduction to common stainless steel wire mesh types, grades, characteristics and properties
Commonly used stainless steel wire mesh types, grades, characteristics and features
Stainless steel wire mesh is also known as stainless steel screen, stainless steel woven mesh, stainless steel filter, stainless steel mesh, stainless steel filter, stainless steel wire mesh.
Stainless steel wire mesh has a variety of materials, the commonly used ones are: 201, 202, 301, 302, 304, 304L, 306, 316, 316L, 321, 310S, etc.
The difference between commonly used stainless steel wire mesh grades:
201 and 202 stainless steel wire mesh are called non-magnetic and nickel-free stainless steel wire mesh.
301 stainless steel wire mesh has good ductility.
302 stainless steel wire mesh: The corrosion resistance is the same as 301 stainless steel wire mesh, and the strength is better than 301 due to the relatively high carbon content.
304 stainless steel wire mesh: the grade is: 0Gr18Ni9, the density is 7.93 g/cm3, the common marking methods in the market are 06Cr19Ni10, 304, SUS304, among which 06Cr19Ni10 generally indicates national standard production, 304 generally indicates ASTM standard production, and SUS304 indicates Japanese standard production. The general use temperature limit is less than 650℃. 304 stainless steel has excellent stainless corrosion resistance and good intergranular corrosion resistance. For oxidizing acids, the experiment shows that: in nitric acid below the boiling temperature with a concentration of ≤65%, 304 stainless steel wire mesh has strong corrosion resistance. It also has good corrosion resistance to alkaline solutions and most organic and inorganic acids. Generally refers to "18-8" (18% chromium, 8% nickel) Most of them are basic stainless steel alloys that can be exposed outdoors and will not rust or oxidize when the outside temperature rises to 1400 degrees Fahrenheit.
304L stainless steel wire mesh: very similar to 304 stainless steel wire mesh, the difference is that the carbon content is reduced, which is more conducive to weaving and re-welding.
316 stainless steel wire mesh: Grade 18Cr-12Ni-2.5Mo Due to the addition of Mo, its corrosion resistance, atmospheric corrosion resistance and high temperature strength are particularly good, and it can be used under harsh conditions; excellent work hardening (non-magnetic). Tensile strength (Mpa) 620 MIN, good heat resistance, good oxidation resistance and good heat resistance when used above 871°C-927C° (1700°F).
316L stainless steel wire mesh: better resistance to carbide precipitation than 316 stainless steel. It is less susceptible to corrosion than other chromium-nickel stainless steels in salt water, sulfur water or in brine. In order to obtain the best corrosion resistance, the welded section of 316 stainless steel needs to be annealed after welding. If 316L stainless steel is used, no post-weld annealing is required.
310S stainless steel wire mesh: the corresponding domestic grade is 0Cr25Ni20, tensile strength (бb) (Mpa): ≥520, with good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. Because it contains a high proportion of chromium and nickel, 310s can continue to work at high temperatures and has good high temperature resistance.
321 stainless steel wire mesh: grade 0Cr18Ni10Ti, tensile strength σb (MPa): ≥520 is a heat-resistant steel grade, which is much better than 316L in terms of high temperature. 321 stainless steel has good wear resistance in organic and inorganic acids of different concentrations and temperatures, especially in oxidizing media, and is used to manufacture wear-resistant acid equipment and tools. For example: stainless steel conveyor belt.
