Stainless steel demister is also called demister, wire mesh demister , gas-liquid separator, etc. It is mainly used to separate droplets with a diameter greater than 3μm to 5μm. When the gas with mist rises at a certain speed and passes through the filter wire in the middle of the grid, due to the inertia of the rising mist, the mist collides with the filament and adheres to the surface of the filament.

The mist on the surface of the filaments further diffuses and the gravity of the mist itself settles, causing the mist to form larger droplets that flow along the filaments to the intersection of the filaments. Due to the wettability of the filaments, the surface tension of the liquid and the capillary action of the filaments, the droplets become larger and larger until their own gravity exceeds the combined force of the buoyancy of the rising gas and the surface tension of the liquid, and then they are separated and fall. As long as the operating conditions such as the gas speed are properly selected, the defoaming efficiency of the gas after passing through the wire mesh demister can be more than 99%, which can completely remove the mist.

Characteristics of PP demister

PP polypropylene wire mesh demister is another excellent resin variety after nylon. It is a high-density, side-chain-free, highly crystalline linear polymer with excellent comprehensive properties. It is white, translucent, waxy when not colored; lighter than polyethylene. It is also more transparent than polyethylene and harder than polyethylene.

PP polypropylene wire mist demister physical properties: polypropylene is a non-toxic, odorless, tasteless milky white highly crystalline polymer with a density of only 0.90-0.91g/cm3, which is one of the lightest varieties of all plastics. It is particularly stable to water, with a water absorption rate of only 0.01% in water for 24 hours, and a molecular weight of about 80,000-150,000. It has good formability, but due to the large shrinkage rate, thick-walled products are prone to dents. The product has a good surface gloss and is easy to color.

Mechanical properties of PP polypropylene wire mesh demister: Polypropylene has high crystallinity and regular structure, so it has excellent mechanical properties. Its strength, hardness and elasticity are higher than HDPE. However, at room temperature and low temperature, due to its high regularity of molecular structure, its impact strength is poor. When the molecular weight increases, the impact strength also increases, but the molding performance deteriorates. The most outstanding performance of PP is its resistance to bending fatigue. For example, a PP injection-molded integrated movable hinge can withstand 7×107 opening and closing folding and bending without damage. The dry friction coefficient is similar to that of nylon, but it is not as good as nylon under oil lubrication.

PP polypropylene wire mesh demister thermal performance: PP has good heat resistance, melting point is 164 ~ 170 ℃, the product can be sterilized at a temperature above 100 ℃, without external force, 150 ℃ will not deform. The brittle temperature is -35 ℃, below -35 ℃ will be brittle, cold resistance is not as good as polyethylene.

Chemical stability of PP polypropylene wire mesh demister: Polypropylene has good chemical stability. Except for being corroded by concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid, it is relatively stable to various other chemical reagents. However, low molecular weight aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons can soften and swell PP. At the same time, its chemical stability increases with the increase of crystallinity. Therefore, polypropylene is suitable for making various chemical pipelines and accessories, and has good anti-corrosion effect.
