Introduction to the characteristics, technical parameters and chemical composition of 304H stainless steel wire mesh products
304H Stainless Steel Wire Mesh Product Features Technical Parameters and Chemical Composition Introduction
304H Alloy (UNS S30409) stainless steel is a deformed product of 18% chromium, 8% nickel 304 austenitic alloy. The carbon content in this product is controlled at 0.04-0.10, which improves the high temperature strength of product parts in temperature environments above 800°F. 304 alloy is widely used and has strong corrosion resistance and easy assembly.
304H Alloy Stainless Steel General Properties
Alloy 304H (S30409) stainless steel is a variant of 18% chromium, 8% nickel austenitic alloy and is the most common and most commonly used alloy in the stainless steel family. These alloys can be used in a variety of applications because they have one or more of the following properties. Properties include:
corrosion resistance; oxidation resistance; easy processing; good formability; beautiful appearance; easy to clean; high strength, low weight; good strength and toughness in low temperature environments; a variety of product forms exist
304H (S30409) alloy combines corrosion resistance and good processing well. This good combination of properties is why this alloy is widely used, accounting for almost half of all stainless steel production in the United States. 18-8 stainless steel, mainly 304, 304L, 304H, exists in a variety of forms, including sheets, strips and plates. These alloys are often used in the manufacture of equipment, and examples of applications include: food and beverage, sanitary, refrigeration, and pressure vessels.
Argon oxygen decarburization technology (AOD technology) has achieved low carbon levels at a low cost, and 304 has become the standard alloy.
304H alloy is a modified version of 304, with a carbon content between 0.04-0.10. For parts that are exposed to temperatures above 800°F, the use of 304H helps improve strength at high temperatures.

304H stainless steel alloy for corrosion resistance
Uniform Corrosion
Austenitic 304H stainless steels are fairly resistant to corrosion in moderately oxidizing and reducing environments. These alloys are widely used in processing and handling food, beverage, and dairy equipment and utensils. Heat exchangers, pipes, tanks, and other processing equipment that comes in contact with fresh water can use these alloys.
304H stainless steel is also resistant to moderate organic acids (such as acetic acid) and reducing acids (such as phosphoric acid). 18-8 alloys contain 9-11% nickel and can resist moderately reducing environments.
