Commonly used stainless steel wire grades, types and characteristics
Commonly used stainless steel wire grades, types, and characteristics
201: (1Cr17Mn6Ni5N) Characteristics: As a widely used steel, it has low nickel and good wear resistance. It is mainly used in building materials factories, coal mining, water tanks, air conditioners, food machinery and other industries.
202: (1Cr18Mn8Ni5N) Characteristics: As a widely used stainless steel, it has corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties without heat treatment hardening, and good bending hot processing performance.
304: (0Cr18Ni9) Characteristics: As a widely used steel, it has good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties. Good hot processing properties such as stamping and bending, no heat treatment hardening, and no magnetism.
304L: (00Cr19Ni10) Characteristics: As a low-C 304 steel, its corrosion resistance is similar to that of 304 steel in general conditions, but after welding or stress relief, its resistance to intergranular corrosion is excellent. It can also maintain good corrosion resistance and no magnetism without heat treatment.
309S: (0Cr23Ni13) Features: It can withstand repeated heating below 980℃, and has high high temperature strength, oxidation resistance and carburization resistance.
310S: (0Cr25Ni20) Features: It is suitable for making various furnace components, with a maximum temperature of 1200℃ and a continuous use temperature of 1150℃.
316: (0Cr17Ni12Mo2)
316L: (0Cr17Ni14Mo2) Features: As a low C series of 316 steel, it has the same characteristics as 316 steel, but has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion.
408 Features: Good heat resistance, weak corrosion resistance, 11% Cr, 8% Ni. 409 Features
: The cheapest model (British and American), usually used as automobile exhaust pipes, belongs to ferritic stainless steel (chrome steel).
410 Features: It belongs to martensite (high-strength chrome steel), with good wear resistance and poor corrosion resistance.
416 Features: The addition of sulfur improves the processing performance of the material.
420 Characteristics: "Cutting tool grade" martensitic steel, similar to Brinell high chromium steel, the earliest stainless steel. Also used for surgical knives, can be made very bright.
430 Characteristics: Ferritic stainless steel, used for decoration, such as automotive accessories. Good formability, but poor temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.
440 Characteristics: High-strength cutting tool steel, with a slightly higher carbon content. After proper heat treatment, it can obtain a higher yield strength, and the hardness can reach 58HRC, which is among the hardest stainless steels. The most common application example is "razor blades". There are three commonly used models: 440A, 440B, 440C, and 440F (easy to process).
