N6 pure nickel alloy commercial pure nickel or low alloy nickel characteristics are very useful in many fields, such as: chemical process and electronics industry. Nickel has a certain resistance to various reducing chemicals, and its resistance to caustic alkali is irreplaceable. Compared with nickel-based alloys, commercial pure nickel has higher electrical and thermal conductivity, higher Curie temperature, and good magnetostrictive properties. Annealed nickel has low hardness and good ductility and flexibility. These characteristics, coupled with its good welding properties, make the metal easy to process and shape. Nickel has a relatively low work hardening rate, but it can reach a moderate strength level and maintain its ductility by cold working.
N6 is a pure nickel alloy that has good mechanical properties and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Other useful characteristics of the alloy include its magnetic properties, magnetostrictive properties, high thermal and electrical conductivity, low gas content and low vapor pressure. The corrosion resistance of N6 makes it particularly useful in applications such as food, man-made fibers and caustic soda where product purity must be guaranteed. It is also widely used in structural applications where corrosion resistance is a major consideration. Other uses include chemical delivery drums, electronic and electrical components, aerospace and missile components.
N6 has good mechanical properties at higher temperatures, however, Nickel 200 is generally limited to use below 600°F (315°C). At high temperatures, Nickel 200 products will graphitize, which will seriously degrade the product's performance. For use above °F (315°C), Nickel 201 is more commonly used. Pure Nickel N6 and Nickel N6 are structural materials approved by the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. The approved operating temperature of N6 can reach 600°F (315°C), and the approved service temperature of N6 can reach 1250°F (677°C). The
main characteristics and applications of N6 pure nickel alloy:
1. N6 is a pure commercial nickel with extremely low carbon content, which has been approved for service in high temperature environments up to 300°C.
2. Application areas of N6:
(1) Food processing equipment, salt refining equipment.
(2) Mining and marine mining.
(3) Equipment required for the manufacture
of industrial sodium hydroxide under high temperature conditions below 300°C. (4) Production of organic or inorganic chlorides and fluorides: resistance to chlorine and fluorine corrosion.
