Stainless steel wire mesh corrugated packing is composed of several parallel and vertical mesh pieces woven of stainless steel material. The ripple direction of the mesh pieces is at a certain inclination angle (usually 45 °) with the tower axis. The adjacent two pieces of corrugated packing have opposite inclination directions, forming a triangular cross section channel network between the corrugated mesh pieces. The assembled mesh pieces are surrounded by ribbon wire mesh rings, forming a cylindrical plate. The diameter of the packing plate is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the tower by about 2mm, so as to avoid crowding inside the tower. When the packing is loaded into the tower, the direction of the mesh of the upper and lower plates of packing is 90. The packing forms a uniform geometric arrangement inside the tower, which specifies the gas-liquid flow path, improves the phenomenon of trench flow and wall flow, and plays the role of packing.

1. Wire diameter and mesh size: Generally, stainless steel wire in foreign countries has a diameter of about 0.16mm and is woven into an 80 mesh wire mesh; In China, a wire diameter of 0.10-0.25mm is generally used, and the corresponding wire mesh is 80-40 mesh. The thickness of the wire mesh is determined by the wire diameter, and generally stainless steel wire mesh has a thickness of 0 10~0.25mm. The peak height and peak distance are generally taken as about twice the peak height. The magnitude of the peak height directly determines the porosity e, specific surface area a, and packing density P of the filler.

2. Tooth shape and tooth angle: The wave tooth shape of the wire mesh corrugated packing is an isosceles triangle, and the recommended tooth angle is 75 degrees to 90 degrees

3. Ripple inclination angle: The inclination angle of the corrugation edge to the tower axis is generally 30 * (commonly known as X-type) and 45 * (commonly known as Y-type).

4. Opening: Generally, small holes are punched on the corrugated sheet. The appropriate aperture is 4-5mm, with a spacing of about 10mm. The holes are mostly arranged in an equilateral triangle shape, and the opening rate is 5.6%~18.4%.

5. Plate height: determined by the height of the packing disc; Usually ranging from 40 to 300mm, depending on the tower diameter.
