GB/T 4240-2009 Introduction to stainless steel wire and related standards
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, ordering content, classification and grade, size, shape and allowable deviation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate of stainless steel wire.
This standard applies to stainless steel wire (hereinafter referred to as steel wire), but does not include austenitic and precipitation hardening stainless spring steel wire, cold heading forging and welding stainless steel wire.
This standard is modified to adopt ASTM A580:1998 (2004) "Stainless Steel Wire" (English version).
Due to the legal requirements of China and the special needs of the industry, this standard was modified when adopting ASTM A580:1998 (2004) standard. A list of technical differences and their reasons is given in Appendix B for reference.
This standard replaces GB/T4240-1993 "Stainless Steel Wire". Compared with GB/T4240-1993, the main changes are as follows:
--- Added terms and definitions;
--- Added delivery status for some grades;
--- Added surface status regulations;
--- Expanded diameter range, soft steel wire from 0.05 mm~14.0 mm to 0.05 mm~16.0 mm, light drawn steel wire from 0.50 mm~14.0 mm to 0.30 mm~16.0 mm, cold drawn steel wire from 0.50 mm~6.00 mm to 0.10 mm~12.0 mm;
--- Cancelled marking examples;
--- Expanded coil inner diameter;
--- Modified the grade representation method;
--- Modified the number of grades, deleted 0Cr19Ni9N, Y1Cr18Ni9Se, 0Cr18Ni11Ti, 0Cr18Ni11Nb, 00Cr19Ni11, 1Cr17Ni2, 9Cr18, a total of 7 grades, and added 12Cr17Mn6Ni5N There are 20 brands in total; the brands have increased from 23 to 36;
--- Modified chemical composition;
--- Adjusted mechanical properties, tightened some indicators;
--- Modified the gauge length of tensile test specimens;
--- Added elongation for reference for steel wire with diameter less than 1.0mm;
--- Modified packaging regulations;
--- Added Appendix A and Appendix B.
Appendix A and Appendix B of this standard are both informative appendices.
The previous versions of the standards replaced by this standard are: --- GB/T4240-1984, GB/T4240-1993.
